Client: University of Minnesota Extension Service, 2002

Project Overview:
The Minnesota Extension Service has been researching ways of preventing a common backyard pest from infecting apples on ordinary apple trees. Through their research, they developed a method to prevent these pests, called the apple maggot, from burrowing into apples during the apple's development. What the extension service needed was a venue of informing extension educators and master gardeners in the 87 counties throughout the state of Minnesota. But provided the information in a fun and entertaining way.

The lead researcher of the study developed a humorous storyline to introduce the apple-bagging method, with a scenario of a grandson and his friends camping out in grandpa's backyard and waiting until it's dark to raid the apple trees. Once they returned to the tent from raiding the trees, they discover the disgusting apple maggot. This then leads us to an explanation of the apple bagging method, and is concluded with the grandparents and grandkids in a humorous ending.

This project was awarded as a National Finalist in the National Extension Educators Association, 2002.

My Role in the Project:
I was the lead photographer and editor of the project in addition to designing the DVD and VHS tape packaging.
